One of the holy grails of Bond collecting, the James Bond 007 Secret Agent Attaché Case returns in a numbered limited edition re-issue. Originally released to celebrate the James Bond film series’ 60th Anniversary, this iconic piece of movie memorabilia is once again available as a collector’s edition.
Backstory
The case is inspired by James Bond’s famous trick attaché case featured in From Russia with Love and was first released as a toy in 1965.
The story began in 1963 when New York toy designer Ben Kinberg watched From Russia with Love and was inspired by Bond’s ingenious attaché case. Imagining children recreating the adventures of the world’s most famous secret agent, he developed the concept for a toy version and presented it to Multiple Toymakers (Multiple Product Corp.), who secured the official James Bond license and released the original James Bond 007 Secret Agent Attaché Case in 1965.
As the exclusive manufacturer of James Bond toys during that era, Multiple Toymakers produced an entire line of 007 gadgets. In the early 1980s, American Plastic Equipment, Inc. acquired the company’s assets, including the original tooling and product rights. Today, its sister company, American Classic Toy, Inc., proudly brings this legendary collectible back to life using the original 1965 molds, faithfully preserving the spirit of the original while updating it to modern safety and manufacturing standards.
Details
The case is produced using the original 1965 molds and includes a coding device for writing secret messages, a Code Book that also functions as a booby trap, a passport, international currency, secret business cards, gold coins, and a viewing movie camera.
Updates from the original include the flocked red interior (matching the movie prop), a replica of the original James Bond Secret Agent Movie Camera in place of the gun, and gold coins replacing the original bullets, inspired by those seen in the film.
It also includes a Secret Agent Pen that writes with invisible ink. Your secret message can only be revealed using the pen’s built-in ultra-violet light, remaining invisible to everyone else until illuminated.
Collector’s Edition
Each edition is individually numbered and includes a matching Certificate of Authenticity, suitable for framing.
The attaché case is crafted with black simulated leather, gold metal hardware, and functional 007 combination locks featuring the iconic dagger insignia.
